Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin has completed her move to Portuguese champions SL Benfica Women, signing a long-term contract that will keep her at the club until June 2029.
The Nigeria international joins Benfica on a free transfer from Turkish side Galatasaray, where she spent the past two seasons. Demehin made 41 appearances and scored two goals during her time with the Turkish club.
The 24-year-old centre-back now begins a new chapter in Portugal, joining one of the leading women’s clubs in the country. Her arrival strengthens Benfica’s defensive options as the club prepares for another campaign at domestic and European level.
Demehin will also link up with fellow Nigerian international Flourish Sabastine, who is already part of the Benfica squad. The move gives the defender an opportunity to continue her development in European football while competing for major domestic and continental honours.
The transfer is a free move, with Demehin agreeing a contract until June 2029. Her arrival represents another step in the Super Falcons defender’s European career after previous spells with Galatasaray and other clubs in Nigeria.
