A 101-year-old great-grandmother, Esther Ogunmabo, has been granted bail by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, after she was arrested for allegedly selling cannabis in Ilisan, Ogun State.

Ogunmabo was arrested on August 15 with 90 grammes of skunk, a strain of cannabis. The NDLEA said she admitted selling the substance in small quantities.

During questioning, the centenarian reportedly explained that she turned to the illegal trade after a fire destroyed her provisions shop, leaving her without a source of income. She also told investigators that her daughter, who resides in Lagos, supplied her with cannabis every four days.

Following her arrest, the NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), directed that Ogunmabo be granted bail and given counselling due to her advanced age. The agency subsequently arrested her daughter in connection with the case.

For many university students, this cycle is all too familiar , an endless tug-of-war between looming deadlines and the irresistible distractions of the digital world. You're not lazy. You're human. Procrastination isn't a willpower deficit or a time-management glitch, it's an emotional rescue mission gone sideways. Modern psychology, led by researchers like Timothy Pychyl and Fuschia Sirois, frames it clearly: procrastinati...
