Group Begins Weekly Prayers In Support Of Tinubu’s Re-election

Adenuga Toheeb Ayoola

A faith-based organisation, Victorious Prayer Network, has commenced weekly prayer meetings in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Evangelist Victoria Agori, founder of the organisation, stated that the decision to pray for Tinubu’s re-election was divinely inspired, as the achievements of the President during his first tenure had made it expedient to pray for his return.

“Every Wednesday we used to meet; today I was given direction by the Almighty God to gather Nigerian children, women, widows, orphans to pray for the nation, for our President Bola Tinubu, to come back for second tenure,” she said.

Victoria said this at the group’s weekly prayer meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as she cited the peace in the Niger Delta region and the ongoing war against insurgency as reasons for supporting the President for a second term in office.

Agori further highlighted that the prayer sessions held every Wednesday were aimed at praying for the nation and the President, as well as seeking divine guidance and strength for his administration.

Agori urged Nigerians to pray for Tinubu and the country rather than only criticising the President, saying he deserved prayers to enable him to have a successful tenure.

“Let Nigeria unite and come together and pray for our country, pray for the President so he can be strengthened, and God can use him to favour Nigeria and every one of us,” she added.

Also speaking, a member of the group, Elder Harrison Princewill, said the organisation had been involved in interceding for the peace of the country since its inception, adding that the group remained committed to its mission.

“Tinubu can still do better; and definitely he will. The problem we are facing in this country will come to an end if they allow him to do his eight-year tenure and that is our stand,” he said.

The Tomorrow trap: why we procrastinate and how to break free

By Irikefe Oghenetega Victor It’s 11 p.m. in Lagos, and that major project due at 9 a.m.  is staring back at you from your laptop screen. Yet somehow, the work hasn’t started. Instead, you’re rearranging your playlist to create the “perfect” study vibe, finally replying to that group chat message from last week, or falling down an unexpected rabbit hole about why ancient Roman aqueducts were such a brilliant engineering feat. The minutes slip by. The clock seems to tick louder. A quiet sense of guilt begins to creep in, but the scrolling continues. For many university students, this cycle is all too familiar , an endless tug-of-war between looming deadlines and the irresistible distractions of the digital world. You're not lazy. You're human. Procrastination isn't a willpower deficit or a time-management glitch, it's an emotional rescue mission gone sideways. Modern psychology, led by researchers like Timothy Pychyl and Fuschia Sirois, frames it clearly: procrastinati...
