Nigeria’s Falconets will face Poland’s U-20 women’s team in an international friendly on Friday, August 28, as part of their final preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg, Poland, with kick-off set for 12:00 WAT.
The friendly offers coach Moses Aduku’s side a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their tactics and integrate new players following recent squad changes. The Falconets were forced to replace captain Joy Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab after both players were denied visas.
The clash against the host nation will allow the technical crew to assess the team’s readiness, test different combinations, and address any remaining issues before the tournament begins. It also provides the newly called-up players with crucial game time to settle into the squad.
With the World Cup just days away, the Falconets will be looking to use the friendly as a final dress rehearsal to build cohesion, confidence, and match sharpness ahead of their Group F campaign.
