NFF Rewards Super Falcons For 2025 WAFCON Hours To 2026's Opener

National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko and Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi were in Rabat on Tuesday to hand the Super Falcons the federal government’s reward package for their 2025 WAFCON triumph, just hours before the team kicked off their title defence.

The handover took place just hours before Nigeria opened their title defence against Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium, and was confirmed through the NFF’s official X account with accompanying photographs of the ceremony.

Dikko had spent recent weeks reassuring both players and the public that the rewards were still moving through official channels. Although full details of what each player received remain limited, the presentation was widely viewed as a welcome resolution ahead of the tournament.

For a squad that had publicly flagged concerns over unfulfilled promises in the buildup to the tournament, receiving the reward package on matchday morning could remove the distraction that has previously clouded Nigerian campaigns at major tournaments, and hands the Super Falcons one less thing to think about as they begin the defence of their crown.

A day earlier, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau had personally presented goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie with the certificate for a house gifted by Jedo Investment Company Limited, in recognition of her retaining the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.

The National Sports Commission also confirmed that all Super Falcons allowances covering the entire period from camping through to the final of WAFCON 2026 have been fully settled, ensuring the team faces no financial interruptions during the competition.

The Tomorrow trap: why we procrastinate and how to break free

By Irikefe Oghenetega Victor It’s 11 p.m. in Lagos, and that major project due at 9 a.m.  is staring back at you from your laptop screen. Yet somehow, the work hasn’t started. Instead, you’re rearranging your playlist to create the “perfect” study vibe, finally replying to that group chat message from last week, or falling down an unexpected rabbit hole about why ancient Roman aqueducts were such a brilliant engineering feat. The minutes slip by. The clock seems to tick louder. A quiet sense of guilt begins to creep in, but the scrolling continues. For many university students, this cycle is all too familiar , an endless tug-of-war between looming deadlines and the irresistible distractions of the digital world. You're not lazy. You're human. Procrastination isn't a willpower deficit or a time-management glitch, it's an emotional rescue mission gone sideways. Modern psychology, led by researchers like Timothy Pychyl and Fuschia Sirois, frames it clearly: procrastinati...
