The Super Eagles played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against Poland in an international friendly match at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Terem Moffi gave Nigeria the lead in the 22nd minute with a well-taken finish. Poland responded strongly and equalised just before half-time through Kacper Potulski. In the second half, Paul Onuachu restored Nigeria’s advantage by converting a penalty in the 76th minute, but Poland fought back once again as Przemysław Wiśniewski scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in the 95th minute to snatch a point for the hosts.
The result sees the Super Eagles maintain their unbeaten run under coach Eric Chelle in this international window, following their Unity Cup success. However, the late concession will be a point of concern for the technical crew, especially in terms of concentration and game management in the closing stages.
Despite the draw, there were positive signs in attack, with Moffi and Onuachu both getting on the scoresheet. The performance provided Chelle with more insight into his squad’s depth as several new faces were handed opportunities.
Focus now shifts to Nigeria’s next assignment as they face a stronger Portugal side in Leiria on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The Super Eagles will be aiming to end the international window on a high note with a positive result against the European side.
