Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde promised safe return of the abducted students,teachers by bandits,assuring that his administration is making serious efforts to secure their release.
During the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Makinde promised during Eid prayer alongside other Muslim faithful at his residence in Ibadan. The governor stated that the challenges in Oyo with the abducted students and teachers,made it clear that he is working round the clock to ensure that the children are reunited with their families.
He expressed sympathy with families of the abducted victims and prayed for divine intervention during these difficult moments.
According to reports made by the Punch, Teachers and students were abducted Friday at 9:30 a.m. during attacks . The governor called for unity and tolerance.However, faithful Muslims gathered in large numbers at the Agodi Eid praying ground to observe the Eid-el-Kabir,as well as praying for peace, unity, and tightened security across Oyo State which began at 9 a.m.,
led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, AbdulGaniyy.
The congregation also prayed fervently for the safe return of victims, urging security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify rescue efforts and restore calm to affected communities.
