Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has been crowned joint winner of the 2025/26 Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot after finishing the season with 22 league goals for Trabzonspor.
The 31-year-old shared the prestigious award with Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Başakşehir, becoming the sixth Trabzonspor player in club history to win the Golden Boot.
Onuachu achieved the feat in just 30 league appearances, underlining his clinical finishing and importance to Trabzonspor’s attack. This marks the second Golden Boot of his career, having previously topped the scoring charts in the Belgian Pro League with KRC Genk during the 2020/21 season.
The towering forward now joins an elite group of Nigerians who have won top scorer awards in major European leagues, alongside the likes of Victor Osimhen (Serie A 2022/23), Joseph Akpala, and Tosin Dosunmu.
Onuachu’s achievement further enhances his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most prolific strikers in European football.
