Oladipo Named Serie A Femminile Best Defender

Super Falcons defender Shukurat Oladipo has been named the Best Defender of the 2025/26 Serie A Femminile season after an outstanding debut campaign with AS Roma.

The 21-year-old centre-back played a pivotal role in Roma’s title-winning season, anchoring a formidable defence that helped the club secure their third Serie A championship in four years. During her 18 league appearances (15 starts), Roma remained unbeaten in every match she featured in and recorded eight clean sheets.

Oladipo, who joined Roma from Robo Queens in February 2025, received the award at a gala ceremony on Monday night. She was also named in the official Serie A Femminile Team of the Season.

Her impressive performances saw Roma concede just nine goals in the matches she played, underlining her rapid rise as one of the most reliable defenders in Italian women’s football.

The award caps a dream first full season in Europe for the Nigerian international, further boosting her reputation ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

LASUSTECH, LIRS partners to Boost Tax Literacy Among Staff
