The Ogun State Police Command has launched a joint security operation with other agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration across the state. The initiative is aimed at strengthening security presence and protecting lives and property during the festive period.
According to the police, a significant number of personnel have been deployed to key locations, including major highways and strategic areas. The operation also involves patrol vehicles, tactical teams, and intelligence assets designed to deter criminal activities and reassure residents.
Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi stated that the coordinated effort became necessary to maintain adequate security during the celebrations. He emphasized that the collaboration among security agencies would enhance surveillance and rapid response to any threats.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bode Ojajuni, has ordered massive deployment of officers for both operational duties and traffic control before, during, and after the Easter period. He added that the command would continue working closely with other security agencies for effective coverage.
Residents have been urged to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with security personnel, while also reporting suspicious activities through designated emergency lines. The police assured the public that the operation would extend beyond the festive period to maintain ongoing security in the state.
