Victor Osimhen is on course to resume full training with Galatasaray on Monday, April 20, 2026, as he continues his recovery from surgery on a fractured right forearm.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles striker sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool last month and underwent successful surgery shortly afterwards. He has already progressed to gym-based rehabilitation and is now working towards unrestricted on-pitch sessions.
Galatasaray are optimistic the Nigeria international will be available for the high-stakes Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahçe on Sunday, April 26 just six days after he returns to full training.
The news comes as a timely boost for the Turkish champions, who suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to title rivals Trabzonspor in Osimhen’s absence last weekend. This season the striker has been in sensational form, netting 19 goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
Osimhen’s potential return for the Fenerbahçe derby will be a major lift for Galatasaray as they push for silverware on both domestic and European fronts. Turkish media outlet Aksam reports that the club’s medical team is managing his comeback carefully to avoid any setbacks.
