Confident Ladies Corner 101 (CLC 101): A Must Read!

By Emmanuel Uduak-Obong Esther

Know your body type before you pick an outfit. It will save you every time.Always wear what makes you confident, whether that is trousers, a skirt, or a gown. If it makes you feel like yourself, wear it.

Learn to combine colors. Do not be like Sister Amaka stepping out in a purple skirt, blue blouse, and yellow shoes all at once. If color matching is not your strength, stick to combinations you already know work.

Comfort matters with footwear too. If heels are not your thing, wear flats. Wear sneakers. Wear sandals. Just keep them clean and wear them with pride.Know the hairstyles that suit your head shape, and make sure your makeup blends with your skin tone. You do not want to look like the confluence of River Niger and River Benue. Your natural face is also a perfectly valid option.

When you wear leggings, wear a top that covers your butt. When you wear tight outfits, keep your panty liners hidden. Every outfit also has a walking pattern. Learn yours.

Smell nice. Take care of your skin. If your budget is tight, Aloe Vera, lime, cucumber, and carrot will do the job. Never step out in a wrinkled outfit, and please brush your wig before leaving the house.
Above all, be yourself. No one is perfect, but we are all works in progress. Love yourself yesterday, today, and always.

The Tomorrow trap: why we procrastinate and how to break free

By Irikefe Oghenetega Victor It’s 11 p.m. in Lagos, and that major project due at 9 a.m.  is staring back at you from your laptop screen. Yet somehow, the work hasn’t started. Instead, you’re rearranging your playlist to create the “perfect” study vibe, finally replying to that group chat message from last week, or falling down an unexpected rabbit hole about why ancient Roman aqueducts were such a brilliant engineering feat. The minutes slip by. The clock seems to tick louder. A quiet sense of guilt begins to creep in, but the scrolling continues. For many university students, this cycle is all too familiar , an endless tug-of-war between looming deadlines and the irresistible distractions of the digital world. You're not lazy. You're human. Procrastination isn't a willpower deficit or a time-management glitch, it's an emotional rescue mission gone sideways. Modern psychology, led by researchers like Timothy Pychyl and Fuschia Sirois, frames it clearly: procrastinati...
