Nigeria’s Super Falcons have climbed one spot to 36th in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking released on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
The team moved up from 37th position after adding 3.35 points to their tally, bringing their total to 1,602 points. The improvement was largely driven by their 3-1 victory over Cameroon in March 2026, which helped offset a 1-0 defeat to the same opponents in February.
Despite the NFF’s failure to arrange any friendly matches during the most recent international window in mid-April, the Super Falcons maintained their position as Africa’s number one team. They continue to lead the continent ahead of South Africa (58th), Ghana (59th), Morocco (62nd), and Zambia (64th).
Globally, Spain remain at the top, followed by the United States, England, Germany, and Japan. The rise reinforces the Super Falcons’ long-standing dominance in African women’s football, a position they have held for over a decade.
The team will now look to build on this momentum as they prepare for upcoming competitions, including the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers and the quest for 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification.
