By Irikefe Oghenetega Victor

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) will hold its 2nd Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday, 7th April 2026. The lecture will be delivered by Professor Ayodeji Dare-Abel, a distinguished Professor of Architecture and Building Information Modelling (BIM) at the institution.

The event will take place at the 500-Seat Capacity Auditorium, College of Agriculture, LASUSTECH. Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, Vice Chancellor of LASUSTECH, will chair the occasion. Inaugural lectures are major academic milestones in Nigerian universities; they allow newly promoted professors to present their lifetime research contributions to the university community and the public in an accessible way.

Titled “Vision, Patterns and Expression: Trajectory to Environmental Sustainability”, the lecture is expected to examine how forward-thinking design ideas (vision), recurring architectural patterns, and creative ways of expressing concepts can be harnessed to achieve long-term environmental sustainability.

The university community, students, staff, architects, environmental experts, and members of the general public are invited to attend. Seats are limited, and participants are advised to arrive early to secure their places.

This second inaugural lecture underscores LASUSTECH’s growing reputation as a centre of academic excellence in science, technology, and sustainable development. It also highlights the university’s commitment to addressing real-world challenges like climate change through research and innovation.

For many university students, this cycle is all too familiar , an endless tug-of-war between looming deadlines and the irresistible distractions of the digital world. You're not lazy. You're human. Procrastination isn't a willpower deficit or a time-management glitch, it's an emotional rescue mission gone sideways. Modern psychology, led by researchers like Timothy Pychyl and Fuschia Sirois, frames it clearly: procrastinati...
