Super Eagles and Werder Bremen striker Victor Boniface has returned to the club’s training base in Bremen after completing his rehabilitation in Leverkusen.
The 25-year-old forward, who has been sidelined for three months following knee surgery, began individual light training on the pitch this week, including ball work. He is expected to train separately for the next few days before being carefully re-integrated into full team sessions under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.
Boniface underwent surgery for a knee contusion in January after consultations in Austria. Werder Bremen confirmed at the time that he would miss several months of action. The Nigerian international has now expressed optimism about his recovery, posting a video of himself performing leg exercises on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Help me post this one too, I dey training.”
The club remains hopeful that the striker could make a return before the end of the current Bundesliga season, provided his recovery continues smoothly. Boniface has been out since December 2025, and his gradual comeback is being managed carefully to avoid any setbacks.
The news has been warmly received by Werder Bremen fans and the Nigerian football community, with many expressing excitement at the prospect of seeing the talented forward back in action soon.
