JAMB Releases 2026 Mock UTME Results

By Irikefe Oghenetega Victor

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Mock, conducted on Saturday, 28th March 2026.

In an announcement dated 31st March 2026, the board revealed that candidates can now access their performance by sending the SMS code MOCKRESULT to either 55019 or 66019, using the exact phone number registered during the 2026 UTME application. The move brings relief to thousands of Nigerian students who sat for the mock as a dress rehearsal for the main examination.

A total of 224,597 candidates had registered for the mock exercise, but only 152,586 actually sat for the test across 989 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. JAMB noted that the examination was largely successful despite some hitches, with the board taking decisive action by delisting over 20 CBT centres that experienced technical challenges.

In the same statement, JAMB issued a strong warning to candidates against falling victim to fraudsters. The board alerted students to beware of individuals and groups, particularly on WhatsApp, who claim they can inflate mock scores or manipulate results. "Such promises are false and criminal", JAMB stressed, adding that any candidate found engaging in these activities will face sanctions, including possible cancellation or withdrawal of their results.

JAMB reminded all candidates that the main Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is scheduled to commence on Thursday, 16th April 2026. The mock examination is designed to give candidates a real feel of the main UTME environment, helping them identify areas of strength and weakness before the actual test.

The Tomorrow trap: why we procrastinate and how to break free

By Irikefe Oghenetega Victor It’s 11 p.m. in Lagos, and that major project due at 9 a.m.  is staring back at you from your laptop screen. Yet somehow, the work hasn’t started. Instead, you’re rearranging your playlist to create the “perfect” study vibe, finally replying to that group chat message from last week, or falling down an unexpected rabbit hole about why ancient Roman aqueducts were such a brilliant engineering feat. The minutes slip by. The clock seems to tick louder. A quiet sense of guilt begins to creep in, but the scrolling continues. For many university students, this cycle is all too familiar , an endless tug-of-war between looming deadlines and the irresistible distractions of the digital world. You're not lazy. You're human. Procrastination isn't a willpower deficit or a time-management glitch, it's an emotional rescue mission gone sideways. Modern psychology, led by researchers like Timothy Pychyl and Fuschia Sirois, frames it clearly: procrastinati...
