Bruno Onyemaechi Welcomes First Child with Portuguese Partner

Super Eagles and Olympiacos defender Bruno Onyemaechi and his Portuguese partner, Inês Fontes, have welcomed their first child together on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The left-back made the joyful announcement on social media, sharing a heartfelt photo of himself cradling the newborn. He captioned one post “Best gift ever” and another “feeling complete,” clearly expressing his overwhelming happiness at becoming a father for the first time.

Onyemaechi, who plays his club football in Greece with Olympiacos, was on international duty with the Super Eagles in Antalya, Turkey when the birth happened. The 25-year-old had featured for Nigeria in their 2-1 friendly victory over Iran on Friday before briefly leaving the team camp to be with his family.

Inês Fontes, a popular content creator and influencer, has been in a relationship with Onyemaechi since 2022. The couple, who first met during his time at Boavista in Portugal, recently celebrated their second relationship anniversary shortly before the arrival of their child.

While the gender of the baby has not yet been publicly disclosed, the emotional posts have drawn warm congratulations from fans, teammates, and the Nigerian football community. The news comes as a beautiful personal milestone for the defender amid a busy period of club and international commitments.
